With web design trends constantly evolving it is important to know how your website stacks up against some of the ‘modern’ design trends and what to look out for.
In this post I will look at some of the key design elements that make a website ‘modern’.
Responsive web design (RWD)
With mobile devices being responsible for around half of all global internet traffic, jeopardizing your site’s traffic by ignoring how your website renders on different devices could become costly. With Google’s Mobile-First Policy that effectively penalizing websites that are not mobile friendly, ensuring that your website is responsive has become an essential element of ‘modern’ web design.
Mobile friendly layouts
Where responsive web design is focused on how the layout scales on different devices, mobile friendly layouts are concerned more with how the user is able to navigate on mobile devices. This may require mobile layouts to have a different structure in order to provide a better experience for the user.
